Clark Theological College (CTC) established Ungma Baptist Arogo (UBA) chair in communication studies on the occasion of “45th thanksgiving day programme” of CTC on November 10.
A press release by CTC stated that principal of CTC challenged the community to continue proclaiming God’s work.
He added that life and ministry of CTC for the last 45 years was all about God’s mighty works revealed in through the prayers and generous support of God’s people, churches and organisations.
He expounded that thanksgiving was in recognition of God’s existence and that “we don’t have to worry about development, for as long as we have a good relationship with God, everything is possible”. Further, he thanked Ungma Baptist Church for participating with ceaseless spirit in the ministry of CTC through the years.
While establishing the chair, Ungma Baptist Arogo pastor, reverend Dr Noklen Longkumer said that the Church decided to institute a chair in communication studies by coming forward in contributing Rs. 20, 00,000.00 to CTC. He said that instituting the chair would motivate believers to continue supporting and praying more vigorously for CTC ministry.
Earlier, chairperson of the programme, reverend Dr A. Tali Ao also said that Ungma Baptist Church had spearheaded support in the theological journey of CTC throughout the past 45 years.
The occasion of 45th thanksgiving day was also observed as curtain raiser for golden CTC: 1972-2022. Convener for CTC 50th anniversary, Dr. L. Imsutoshi Jamir also highlighted on the projects and plans of the college at the backdrop of CTC’s past and present through visual presentation.
Dr. Jamir encouraged that by 2022, CTC would possibly be planning doctoral research centre under senate of Serampore university, library building as well as Clark centre for North East Indian studies.
