Chumukedima Town Mothers’ Association (CTMA) apprehended one person for attempted rape and he has been expelled from the area along with his family.
A press release note CTMA president, Dievilhoutuonuo Thakro and general secretary, Akhono Secii claimed that the accused Taposh Das “was found guilty” of attempting to rape a girl “by pulling her and showing his private parts at ward no-6” Chumukedima Town on October 25.
After thorough interrogation by the CTMA, the accused was handed over to the police. Also, Das and his family have been given ten days to leave Chumukedima Town and if they are seen in the town jurisdiction thereafter, CTMA said that it would not be held responsible for any consequences.
