Chessore Town Public Forum (CTPF) has appealed to the state government to immediately post an independent charge of administrative officer at SDO (Civil) office, Chessore.
In a representation addressed to the state chief secretary, CTPF president M. Chuba and secretary K. Pongjikhiung Yimkhiung appreciated the efforts of the current administrative officer-in-charge. However, the signatories said that a dedicated and independent charge would be more efficacious in addressing the complex administrative needs of the community.
The forum stated that Chessore town has been functioning with an administrative officer-in-charge, who, it said was “invariably posted” at the district headquarters, Shamator.
Describing the current that arrangement as “a makeshift solution”, CTPF said it was high time to be posted an independent charge at SDO office Chessore to ensure seamless governance and administrative efficiency. The forum pointed that Chessore was one of the oldest towns in Nagaland and its administrative officer covers 28 villages.
However, CTPF said the absence of an independent charge of an administrative officer at Chessore has resulted in significant difficulties, particularly in the implementation of government developmental activities, survey of construction sites, and various government schemes.
Further, the forum said that lack of an independent charge of administrative officer has led to delays and inefficiencies in the delivery of administrative services, adversely affecting the public.
The forum said posting an independent administrative officer would ensure that administrative services were readily available to the public and enhance overall effectiveness of governance. In light of the above, CTPF has appealed to the state government to post an independent charge of an administrative officer at SDO (Civil) office, Chessore town within this month.
