CTPF demand for independent SDO (C)

Dimapur:

Chessore Town Public Forum (CTPF), Shamator district, have appealed for the posting of an independent Administrative Officer at the SDO (Civil) office in Chessore. In a follow-up letter to the chief secretary, CTPF president, M. Chuba and secretary, K Pongjikhiung Yimkhiung highlighted that the absence of a dedicated officer has hampered implementation of government developmental activities, surveys of construction sites, and various schemes.
The forum expressed appreciation for the commendable work of Athrong, the current SDO (Civil) incharge, who has been managing the office despite holding dual responsibilities in Shamator and Chessore. However, it maintained that an independent charge was essential for efficient delivery of administrative services. The letter further stressed that with the upcoming Census operation, an independent SDO (Civil) was crucial to oversee census activities effectively and ensure accurate data collection. Citizens noted that the public continues to face immense difficulties in accessing services, particularly during the rainy season when roads are disrupted by landslides.
In light of these challenges, the forum urged the government to take immediate action and post an independent SDO (Civil) at Chessore within 15 days of receipt of the letter.
