CTSU conduct tree plantation drive

Chetheba Town Students’ Union (CTSU) conducted a tree plantation drive on July 30 at the town vicinity, with an aim to create awareness on environment protection. 

In a press release, CTSU informed that more than 50 saplings such as peach, gooseberry, lemon, papaya and pine were planted in five different institutions which included Chokri Baptist School, Government High School, Government Middle School, St Andrew High School Thenyizumi and Government Polytechnic, Tsunazho. 

The union president Senetsolu Nyekha said that due to the ongoing lockdown, the union could not organise any activity for the past months however with the relaxation, the union decided to conduct a tree plantation drive.

She pointed out that the plantation drive was conducted to show concern for the environment and to help diminish the unfavourable effects of climate changes.

The plantation drive was attended by union executives, students and well-wishers.

Meanwhile, the union added that the executive members would be available to assist students and parents who were seeking admission for further studies.
