CTSU, PSU, KGSU observe anniversary, sessions, conference

Chare Town Students’ Union (CTSU), Phek Students Union (PSU), Pholami Students’ Union (PSU) and Kuhuboto Ghakhu Students Union (KGSU) observed their respective anniversary, sessions and conference on December 29 and 30 at Chare, Phek and Dimapur on December 29 and 30.

Chare Town Students’ Union 35th anniversary

Two-day, 25th anniversary of Chare Town Students’ Union held on the theme “Stronger in Spirit, Deeper in Wisdom” concluded on December 30. The event was graced by MLA and chairman, District Planning and Development Board, Tuensang, Muthingnyuba Sangtam; vice president, Western Sangtam People’s Organisation, Sethrongkhyu and administrative head, The Entrepreneurs Associates, Yutho Sangtam as special guests. Joint development commissioner, planning (Retd), Opangtula Sangtam and joint director, school education (Retd), Thsarise Sangtam were the main speakers of the event.
Exhorting the students, Opangtula while referring to Joseph from the Bible, encouraged them to inculcate the virtues of hard work, humility and perseverance.
In his sharing, Thsarise emphasised on the importance and power of education and stated education expands, increases, and refines the mind.
Delivering a short speech, Sethrongkhyu encouraged the gathering to maintain unity and challenge the differences.
Meanwhile, the 25th anniversary Memorial Hall was inaugurated by Muthingnyuba, who also encouraged the students to have strong foundation and look forward. The student body has adopted four points 25th anniversary resolutions – To endeavour for self-reliance project; to start educational trust fund, to initiate seed-money project for 50 years celebration and to continually fight against all social evils.

Phek Students Union 63rd session

The 63rd session-cum-seminar of the Phek Students Union (PSU) was held on December 29 at Phek Village Community Hall with Imlibenla Wati Nienu and SDO (Electrical department), Er. Nuthozo Hoshi, as the inaugural speaker and resource person respectively. The session was held under the theme “Be Rare, Be Extraordinary.”
In her address, Nienu said that failure and success were part and parcel of life.
Therefore, she encouraged the students and youths to not be afraid of failure but rather pursue the goals and dreams with dedication, hard work, zeal and determination.
Er. Nuthozo Hoshi, spoke on the topic “Be a torch bearer towards a new era.” He remarked that a torch bearer was someone who leads, inspire and set an example for others to follow. He maintained that youths were the greatest agents of change in the new era, as they had the dreams and energy to pursue their goals and aspirations.
In this competitive world, he also urged them to think outside the box, broadened their mindset and horizon and strive for knowledge and skills beyond the classroom teachings.
He further reminded the students that education was about adding new knowledge to the already existing ones rather than discarding the old values and tradition.
Phek Village Council chairman Kuzhoniecho Keyho also shared greetings.
The inaugural function was chaired by PSU finance secretary Makrota Venuh, invocation by pastor Phek Village Baptist Church, Visito Venuh, welcome address by PSU president Vepo Soho while PSU general secretary Tsiipolu Vero acknowledged the dignitaries present on the occasion.
Educational & statistical secretary, Shehuzo Hoshi, led the felicitation of the meritorious students for 2022 academic year and the second session was moderated by PSU deputy speaker Veluno Vero.

Pholami Students’ Union 60th general session

Pholami Students’ Union (PSU) observed its 60th general session under the theme “conscious for excellence” on December 30 at village Amphitheatre (Dzücheka).
The session was graced by Centre Chakhesang Public Organization, Shepo Dzüdo.
In his speech, Dzüdo stressed on the importance of technology and encouraged the students to work unitedly for the welfare of the community.
He also challenged the students to work persistently to achieve their dreams reminding them that there was no substitution for hard work in any fields.
Presidential address was delivered by Shecho Mede-o, where he also congratulated all the students who had succeeded in their academic session.
The second session was addressed by valedictory guest head master in-charge of GHS Pholami, Vecüto Kezo. The session concluded with an extravaganza night.

Kuhuboto Ghakhu Students Union 37th biennial conference concludes

The four-day, Kuhuboto Ghakhu Students Union (KGSU) 37th biennial conference held under the theme “Envisioning beyond tommorow” concluded on December 30 at Ahozhe village.
Speaking at the concluding programme as guest of honour JD (U) Nagaland general secretary, Kitoho S.Rotokha encouraged the youth to focus on what was best for them instead of staying idle.
He reminded the youths that they cannot depend on government job alone as it has become saturated and therefore they need to sharpen their skill and venture for other avenues. He also urged the gathering to foster brotherhood and oneness among the Naga society in order to move forward.
At the programme, invocation was offered by GBA Tokugha youth pastor Lily Chophy, vote of thanks delivered by KGSU president Kiyeto L Chishi and benediction by GBA Kughato pastor Hukai Yepthomi.
