
Two-day, 8th session of Leshemi Cultural and Traditional Festival (LC and TF) was celebrated from December 28-29, 2015 at Leshemi village.
The event was graced by retd additional SP, Ngulhinyi Krome NPS as festival father.
On the occasion, Ngulhinyi encouraged the people to uphold the dignity of rich cultures and traditions which “our” forefathers have endowed in us, while regretting that “our” cultures and traditions were fast fading away with modernity. He also called upon the villagers to endorse simplicity and sincerity in order to be successful and in making a progressive society.
Retd. agriculture director, Lhiwepelo Mero stressed on self-reliance and broadminded, while living an exemplary life to the younger generations. He extolled the rich cultures of Leshemi village and encouraged the community to preserve it. Retd. DGP Besusayo Kezo IPS, encouraged the community to have a tendency to figure out good leaders. He said that good leaders would bring development and laurel to village and sought support from the community in developing such good leaders. The festival was marked with various prestigious cultural and traditional exhibitions. The uniqueness of the village history was showcased and displayed in a most brilliant way. The exhibitions of vibrant and rich cultural items of the village like traditional games, folk songs, dances, plays etc. mesmerized the audience.
Meanwhile, the organising committee and the village community expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, village age-old friends, in-laws, invitees, well-wishers, elders and the fellow village citizens for making the program successful.
