The second day of the ongoing Hornbill Festival at Kisama was marked by folkdances, folk songs etc. Dr. Victor Echeverri Jaramillo, Ambassador of Colombia to India graced the morning session of the cultural programme as the guest, hosted by deputy CM Planning & Transformation, NH, T.R. Zeliang and advisor Tribal affairs and Election, Tovihoto Ayemi along with A. Pongshi Phom, MLA as co-host.
The programme featured performances by cultural troupes from Zeliang, Yimkhiung, Sumi, Kachari, Sangtam, Rengma, Pochury, Phom and Lotha tribe. In the evening session, a vibrant cultural extravaganza was showcased by cultural troupes from Tikhir, Kuki, Chakhesang, Konyak, Khiamniungan, Ao, Garo, Chang and Angami community.
The evening session, under the theme “Cultural Connect”, was graced by Harinder BS Gill (IRS) zonal member Central Board of Direct Taxes and Smita Srivastava (IRS) principal chief commissioner of Income Tax, West-Bengal & Sikkim as honoured guests.
Dy. CM, Home & Border Affairs, Y Patton was the host and advisor Water Resources, Tongpang Ozukum and P. Longon, MLA as co-host. A play on Income Tax awareness was performed also by Dreamz Unlimited.
