Chozubami Welfare Forum Kohima (CWFK) has alleged that late Kukhrulu (Akhune) daughter of Vamu Phesao of Chozuba Village was murdered and that her body was found in her rented residence in Bayavu Hill Colony Kohima on September 20.
In a press statement, CWFK president, Jolayi Nienu claimed that the post mortem result as well as police preliminary report have indicated her death as a “clear case of homicide”.
CWFK also alleged that one person identified as Yanvunthung Ngullie son of late Renbong Ngullie of N. Longidang Village, a constable under 4th NAP Battalion Thizama, had been a “frequent visitor” and was in a relation with the deceased.
It claimed that “evidences pinpoint that he had premeditated to strangulate her till death and then set it up as a case of suicide, but medical examination proved otherwise.”
It also stated that the deceased was pregnant and that the alleged accused has thus committed two murders.
In this regard, CWFK while basing on “prima facie evidences” said it had represented certain demands to the Senior SP Kohima- to set up Departmental Enquiry Board/Commission and expedite the investigation process without delay or lapse.
It has also demanded for immediate discharge Yanvunthung Ngullie from service without any monetary and pension benefit and execute exemplary action to prevent similar occurrence amongst law enforcing personnel in future.
CWFK also demand for life imprisonment and added that under no circumstances should the Yanvunthung be released.
In the event of releasing the accused on bail, it said the aggrieved community may be forced to resort to “traditional system of ensuring justice”.
CWFK has also appealed likeminded civil and conscious organizations to extend cooperation and support CWFK in its struggle to get justice.
