CWSK alleges irregularities, lapses in PDS

In yet another case of “irregularities” and “lapses” involving the department of Food and Civil Supplies (F&CS), the Citizens’ Welfare Society Kiphire (CWSK) has unearthed certain anomalies in the receipt and utilization of PDS items in the district.
CWSK media cell in a press note alleged that the actual receipt of APL and sugar for Kiphire was 100 MT and 150 quintals respectively. However, in the Utilization Certificate produced by directorate of F&CS Dimapur showed 200MT APL and 900 quintals of sugar per month for Kiphire district. The society said it has notified the anomaly to department of F&CS and sought clarification, but there was no response despite reminder.
In the light of the above, CWSK maintained that common people’s share under various PDS scheme meant for Kiphire has been looted. The society further cautioned that it would not remain silent anymore and would leave no stone unturned to bring transparency in the PDS in the district.
