The Catholic Youth Association (CYA) of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Diphupar Rongmei celebrated its golden jubilee on Wednesday, with Most Rev. Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima as the main celebrant.
A press release from the Church informed that during the programme, Bishop Thoppil in his homily urged upon the youth to have an intimacy with God through prayer and to love him deeper.
He also encouraged them to practice forgiveness and to live a just life.
During the felicitation programme, OSD to the government of Nagaland and CAN president, Johnny Ruangmei quoted Psalm 23 while parish priest of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Fr Johnson delivered a speech.
The programme was attended by various leaders and members of the community including president of Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement, Dr. Lawrence Kithan, president of Nagaland Catholic Women Association, Rita Kikon, priests, nuns and others.
It may be mentioned that the Catholic Youth Association of Our Lady of Lourdes Church was established in the year 1971 with around 20 members with over 80 members today.
