CYF backs resolution against illegal collection

Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) has reiterated the resolution of Chakhesang Public Organisation and adopted on January 23, 2024 at Chizami not to allow “any illegal collection/demand in the ongoing two-lane construction and other developmental activities from any group/s within Chakhesang jurisdiction”, besides insisting that all contractors timely complete the projects as per “laid down guidelines and specifications”.

CYF president Kevesa Khamo and general secretary Nokho Nyekha also declared support to the demand of the Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers’ Union, Phek district unit, for a high-level technical team for on-spot verification of the ongoing upgradation of road from Chozuba town to PWD office under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF).

They demanded that the contractor immediately resume package-2 stretch road construction from Chakhabama to RD Block. Further, considering the importance of various developmental activities within the Chakhesang jurisdiction that would play a vital role not just in the present, but also the future, they fervently appealed all contractors/firms/companies not to compromise the quality of work, while emphasising timely completion of the projects. The assured continuing to extend full support and cooperation wherever required in curbing the anti-social elements that might hamper the progress of the projects.

However, they cautioned that the CYF would also not hesitate to take appropriate action if the quality of the works were compromised, or if the projects were delayed without genuine reasons.
