The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) has lauded the Phek police led by the superintendent of police and the district administration headed by deputy commissioner, Phek, for their dedication and sacrifices in apprehending the prime suspect in the Kizari rape and murder attempt case, who had been absconding since the filing of FIR on September 25, 2025.
In a press statement, CYF president Kevesa Khamo and general secretary Nokho Nyekha urged the investigating officers to leave no stone unturned in preparing the chargesheet to ensure that the accused receives the highest possible punishment under the law.
It further appealed to the judiciary not to grant bail to the accused “for any reason whatsoever” until a swift and proper trial is completed and sentence delivered. The youth body expressed deep concern for the victim, stating that she remains under protection following “severe sexual abuses” and threats to her life by the alleged accused.
CYF cautioned that granting bail at this stage would pose a greater risk to the already traumatised victim.
Warning against any individual or group attempting to assist the accused in securing bail during the investigation, CYF said it would initiate its own course of action should anything happen to the victim as a result, and added that it would not be held responsible for any consequence that may befall the accused while on bail.
