Chakhroma Youth Organisation (CYO) is all set to host its 52nd Sports Meet 2023 from October 21 to 28 in Chümoukedima. This was announced in a press conference on Monday at Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) Hall, Chümoukedima. CYO president Seyieneilhou Keyho informed that the inaugural event will be graced by advisor of Municipal Affairs and Urban Development, Government of Nagaland, Zhaleo Rio as special guest and Commissioner of Police Dimapur Kevithuto Sophie as guest of honor.
Keyho while briefing about the formation of the organization, maintained that CYO currently has 42 affiliated villages, and they were anticipating the participation of more than 30 teams in the event. CYO sports secretary Seyievil Zhotso informed that in the event, it will include men’s football and volleyball for both men and women, while the men’s football league matches will be held on three separate grounds in Chümoukedima and volleyball competition for both men and women will be a knockout match which will be played at the Chümoukedima local ground.
Later, press secretary and information of CYO, Sededvilie Angami, announced the details of the cash prizes for the men’s football tournament informing that the winner of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs. 80,000, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs. 50,000, while individual prizes will be given to the best goalkeeper, best defender, and top scorer, with each of them receiving Rs. 3,000 and player of the tournament will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 5,000.
In the volleyball tournament, both the men’s and women’s winning teams will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 each, and the runners-up teams will receive Rs. 20,000 each. Furthermore, the best players in both the men’s and women’s volleyball categories will each receive a cash prize of Rs. 3,000.
