
In view of the forthcoming independence day celebration, D block panchayat Kohima organized mass social work in the heart of the state capital on Saturday. Hundred residents of the colony took part in the mass social work by filling up the pot holes, clearing up the blocked drainage and cleaning the weeds on the road side from Razhii junction till Assam Rifles camp.
The mass cleanliness drive conducted by the colony people, the stretch of hundred metres of main town road was made beautiful in the state capital. Speaking to this correspondent at the spot, the panchayat chairman Kevisatuo Yhome expressed gratitude to the colony residents for the cooperation of the social work.
The panchayat also expressed gratitude to the ex-councillor KMC Neilaselie Kire and KMC inspector Asabu Kire for their full support and cooperation, KMC for providing JCB and mini truck, Sachin Pradhan and Vikepelie Sekhose for providing water during social work.
