Daily flower market inaugurated in Dimapur

A daily flower market under the aegis of Dimapur District Floricultural Association (DDFA) was inaugurated at the Supermarket on September 1, by SDO hq, Thangbemo on behalf of the deputy commissioner (DC), Dimapur.

In a press release, DDFA information & publicity secretary, Watila Longkumer informed that during the inaugural programme, Thangbemo said that floriculture was a big market internationally, therefore, the people should take up such activities and spread it to the rural areas.

In his speech, Development Authority Nagaland (DAN) senior executive officer Noleto Visa pointed out that it was a win-win situation for both the flower growers under DDFA and DAN, as a much-needed market area was allotted to the growers.

He also said that it would beautify the stretch and also help DAN earn revenue. 

In her keynote address, DDFA president, Zubeni L Imchen highlighted how a long-awaited dream had now become a reality.

She said the daily market stretch would not only enhance the aesthetic value of the town but also add to the economy of the district and state by attracting buyers from nearby states.
