DAN meeting backs Zeliang

Democratic Alliance Nagaland (DAN) coordination committee meeting held at Kohima, Monday resolved to support chief minister T.R. Zeliang.
In a press release, DAN committee member secretary K.G. Kenye said that the meeting which was well attended, resolved “to support T.R. Zeliang, who is the chief minister and the undisputed leader of the DAN Legislature party”. The meeting also condemned “Noke for his lightheaded attempt to call DAN coordination meeting which faced a miserable failure because no alliance partner came to attend the said meeting,” Kenye stated. With regard to the present political impasse, Kenye said that the house also resolved to request the Governor to convene a Special Session of the Assembly, which was “the only means to settle such a dispute as per the norms of the constitution”.
