Day 8: 570 healthcare workers vaccinated

State health & family welfare department has said that the COVID-19 vaccination drive was successfully carried out across the state on Wednesday with 570 healthcare workers getting vaccinated by the Covishield vaccine without any adverse events reported. 

In a press release, the state immunization officer (UT) Dr. Ritu Thurr informed that the total vaccinated healthcare workers now stood at 5,773. Today’s vaccination was carried out in 20 session sites.

In view of the Polio National Immunization Day scheduled in the coming days, Dr.Thurr informed that COVID-19 vaccination would not be conducted for the coming Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. 

Further, the health department has reiterated that Covishield Vaccine has gone through all phases of clinical trials and it has been found to be safe for use in general population.

PTI adds: A total of 23,28,779 healthcare workers have received COVID-19 vaccine jabs in the country so far, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday while underlining that no case of severe adverse event or death is attributable to the vaccination till date.
