DAYO supports NFHRCC ultimatum on govt

Dimapur Ao Youth Organization (DAYO) has extended full support to the 30-day ultimatum served on the state government by Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) to positively respond to the plea making the foothill road pliable while waiting for the mega project.

In a press release, DAYO president Aotemsu Aier and general secretary S Pangertoshi accused the state government of “consistently ignoring” the plight of the majority of the Nagaland state population.

DAYO also termed as “regrettable” the alleged “step motherly treatment” towards one of the oldest connectivity projects in the State. DAYO maintained that unless the foothills road was made motorable, there would always be border flashpoints for armed conflicts and economic blockades like the recent Tzurangkong land intrusion by neighboring Assam.

Asserting that it had been consistent in words and actions since the inception of Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee  to make the “dream road a reality,” DAYO affirmed that it was “ever ready and prepared” to participate in any course of action to be taken.
