DBC asks butchers to follow DMC rate

DIMAPUR: Duncan Bosti Council (DBC) at its executive council meeting on April 13, with butcher shop owners resolved that all butchers “must strictly adhere with the price fixed by Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC).”
In a press release, Duncan Bosti Council through its public relations secretary Edichang Imchen informed that during the meeting, the council also resolved along with the butchers under Duncan jurisdiction that if anyone was found flouting DMC fixed rate, the council would close down the shop “immediately without any warning.”
The council also requested the responsible authority to distribute the meat price chart to be put up in every shop so that the public was aware of the rates and there would be no misunderstandings between sellers and consumers.
