Literary Club of Don Bosco College Kohima (DBCK), department of English organised a talk on July 20 with Dr. Easterine Kire as guest speaker, wherein 88 students along with four professors attended the programme.
Dr. Easterine Kire in her address to the students said that oral narratives was dying out and would soon be lost, whereby she stressed on the importance of oral tradition, taboos and native metaphors.
She had a series of interesting interaction with the students.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Vimenuo Lhough, while Keneipounou Rutsa and Keneigulie read the word of God and prayed for the gathering respectively.
The welcome address was delivered Dr. Toshimelathe assistant professor of DBCK.
Fr. Dr. Suresh, principal of DBCK welcomed the guest. Vote of thanks was proposed by Pelhoulneinou Kiewhuo.
The programme concluded with the college anthem, followed by an exhibition of Easterine Kire’s books which was put out for sale.
