DBS extends greetings for Deepawali and Chhath Puja

Dimapur

Dimapur Bengali Samaj (DBS) has extended greetings to all Sanatanis and devotees on the occasion of Deepawali and Chhath Puja, celebrating the spiritual and cultural significance of both festivals.
In a message issued by advocate Kamala Kanta Paul, president of DBS, the Samaj wished everyone a colourful and vibrant Deepawali, marking the joyous return of Bhagwan Ram to Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile and the triumph over Ravan.
The Samaj also extended pious greetings for Chhath Puja, observed six days after Deepawali, which honours the Sun God and his sister Chhathi Maiya, regarded as the sixth form of Maa Parvati. The festival is noted for its strict observances and deep-rooted Vedic traditions, with devotees offering prayers to both the rising and setting sun.
Highlighting its eco-friendly nature, the Samaj noted that Chhath Puja has gained global recognition for its spiritual discipline and environmental harmony.
