DBSA coordinators discuss sports development in Dimapur

DIMAPUR, JUL 3 (NPN): The All India Don Bosco Sports Academy (DBSA) convened a crucial meeting at the Don Bosco Institute for Development and Leadership (DBIDL), Dimapur, to deliberate on the future of sports and talent development in India.
Secretary of the Dimapur District Football Association (DDFA) and member of the Nagaland Football Association Media & District Affairs Committee, Keyi Putlang, underscored the financial and operational challenges faced by clubs in Nagaland. He stressed the importance of grassroots initiatives and talent identification in youth sports, noting that inadequate infrastructure continues to hinder progress.
Despite these hurdles, Putlang highlighted growing community commitment and awareness as positive signs for the region’s sporting landscape. He commended the Nagaland government’s efforts to strengthen district football, particularly through the establishment of futsal grounds, which provide new opportunities for young players.
The DBSA members concluded the session with a shared vision to empower youth through sports, nurture passion and create pathways for future success.
