DC Chümoukedima issues advisory on immigrant influx

DIMAPUR

Amid the ongoing eviction drives in neighbouring Assam, the Deputy Commissioner of Chümoukedima, Polan John, has issued a district-wide advisory to bolster vigilance against the possible influx of illegal immigrants into Nagaland.
According to a DIPR report, the advisory, which follows a directive from the Commissioner of Nagaland, highlights escalating concerns over illegal entry and movement across the state’s borders. It underscores the importance of maintaining public order and protecting the demographic composition of Nagaland.
The notice instructed all Administrative Officers of Medziphema, Dhansiripar, and Seithekema Sub-divisions, along with Executive Officers of the Chümoukedima and Medziphema Town Councils, to remain on high alert and take prompt preventive measures within their jurisdictions.
Furthermore, the advisory calls upon Village and Town Councils across the district to stay informed and cooperate actively. Authorities have been urged to report any suspicious activities or unauthorized entries of individuals or groups, ensuring coordinated district-wide surveillance.
