In view of the increasing number of dengue cases in the district and in light of ongoing monsoon season, deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur has ordered that all government offices, shops and households would conduct social work once a week (preferably Saturday) as a precautionary measure with major focus on spot reduction and elimination of viable breeding spaces for mosquitoes. In a circular, DC Dimapur Sachin Jaiswal has, therefore, the public to clean their own premises and surroundings which will include but not limited to draining out stagnant water from flower pots, leaves, tyres, old containers, drip pan of refrigerators which are main contributing factors of mosquito breeding.
Further, colonies, wards and village chairman and GBs have been requested to extend cooperation and ensure participation of all the public and eliminate stagnant water in domestic homes and in public spaces.
