Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur has issued an order banning the use of machinery for extraction of resources (sand gravel, boulders) in Chathe and Dhansiri River within Dimapur with effect from April 1-30, 2016 for preservation of the River and River recourses. In a press note, DC Dimapur Kesonyu Yhome said the order was in pursuance to the resolution of district enforcement committee (regulation of extraction of mineral resources on Riverbed) dated March 22, 2016. Yhome also added that the order was issued for information of public for strict compliance.
