Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur Anoop Khinchi along with Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), Vivekananda Welfare Foundation, Hindu Seva Samitti and Bharat Sevashram Sangha visited Dimapur Railway Station on Thursday and met all the passengers of Kamrup Express travelling from Howrah to Dibrugarh, who were stranded at Dimapur station due to the ongoing tense situation in Assam.
According to an official bulletin, the DC and representatives of organizations interacted with the passengers. DC advised the station manager and other officials of Dimapur Railway Station to take care of all the passengers in the best possible manner. DMC provided water and biscuits to the passengers. Bharat Sevashram Sangh Dimapur provided dinner to all the passengers Thursday night.
DMC, Vivekananda Welfare Foundation, Hindu Seva Samitii have assured to provide breakfast and lunch on Friday. Hindu Seva Samitti has arranged blankets for the passengers.
Joint control room set up
To assist Dimapur-bound passengers stranded in various parts of Assam and many passengers planning to travel to Dimapur, Nagaland in transit through Assam, a joint control room has been set up at Police Control Room, Office of Police Commissioner, Dimapur.
In a circular, Dimapur police have informed that Dimapur-bound passenger or passenger in transit through Dimapur could contact the Joint Control Room No.7085055050 for any queries.
Further, following officers/NGOs and personnel have been placed at Joint Control Room: Naieem Mustafa, DCP Zone-I (team leader) and five others members including Seyiesezo Peseyie, ACP ‘A’ Div, Dimapur; Inspector Abeio Kense, PR Dimapur; UBSI Joseph Zeliang, East PS; SI Wepetso Chekhesang, PR Dimapur and Chingkholam Kuki.
