In view of repair and maintenance works at Box Cutting Road Kohima, scheduled from August 10-14, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant has announced vehicular traffic restrictions during the period of repair and maintenance work.
In a notification, the DC informed that there will be total road closure on all vehicular traffic from August 10 and 1 and partial road opening for downward vehicular traffic from August 12-14, 2024.
DC suggested alternative route via Ladies Mile road and NHAK-TCP gate for vehicular traffic during the road closure period.
Meanwhile, DC also informed that landslip/landslide on NH-29 Kohima-Dimapur Road has affected vehicular traffic particularly at Dzuchie, Dzudza (GREF Temple) and Kezanu, Jotsoma (Old KMC dumping site). The DC informed that efforts to remove debris and road repair work was underway and therefore public has been advised to exercise caution while travelling through the route till completion of road restoration work.
