Taking serious note of defacement and damage to public properties, Deputy Commissioner Kohima issued a public notice cautioning individuals/groups against such acts. DC said roads, pavements and railings were being frequently damaged and defaced, and warned that offenders would be liable to restore the property at their own expense or face penal action under Sec. 325 of BNS and Sec. 3 of Nagaland Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 1951. DC also urged all to take ownership of community assets and cooperate to ensure proper upkeep.
