DC-level border meeting held at Merapani

A deputy commissioner-level border meeting was held between Wokha deputy commissioner (DC) Ajit Kumar Ranjan and Golaghat DC Dr P Uday Praveen at 142 Bn CRPF Camp, Merapani on Wednesday.
According to DIPR report, superintendents of police and officials of departments concerned from both the districts also took part in the meeting.
During the meeting, CRPF highlighted the role of the neutral forces in Disputed Area Belt (DAB) and claimed that the forces helped maintained status quo as per the existing agreement signed by the governments of Nagaland and Assam in 1979 and outlined various pending issues in DAB pertaining to sectors B, C and D.
The meeting deliberated upon all the issues and necessary instructions were conveyed to the departments concerned for their resolution.
It was resolved that all the departments and border magistrates should remain in constant touch and share relevant information in order to ensure peace in Disputed Area Belt.
