DC Meluri visits Govt High School Akhegwo

DIMAPUR

Deputy Commissioner, Meluri, K. Mhathung Tanglao, accompanied by SDEO Meluri, Kaitunchap Newmai, visited Government High School, Akhegwo, on Tuesday. The visit aimed to review school’s progress, discuss challenges, and explore opportunities for improvement in education in Meluri District.
A press release by SDEO Meluri office stated that during the visit, the DC and SDEO interacted with school staff, students, stakeholders and community leaders. The discussions focused on enhancing enrolment, improving infrastructure, supporting teacher development, and fostering community involvement in school activities.
The DC emphasized that education is the driving force of the economy and urged teaching staff, as government employees and paid servants, to be sincere and dedicated in their work, ensuring they utilize their salary without guilty conscience for the services rendered.
He also encouraged teachers and community leaders to support students, particularly girl students, highlighting his own role as a government officer committed to serving the people. SDEO Meluri later expressed encouragement to the teaching staff and students for their dedication and hard work and appreciated community’s consistent support to the school and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in shaping the future of education in Meluri district.
The visit concluded with a commitment to launch awareness drive to highlight importance of education and encourage more students to join the school.
