In pursuance to the Government notification, Deputy commissioner Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Poji has constituted a Committee on “Scheme for grant of award to the Good Samaritan”. The members in the committee were: Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung as the Chairman; Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung, member; Chief Medical Officer Mokokchung, member and Regional Transport Officer, Mokokchung as the member secretary.
A DIRP report informed that on receipt of communication from the police stations/hospitals, the committee shall review and approve the proposal/list of Good Samaritan on monthly basis, and the eligible/ selected list shall be forwarded to the Transport Commissioner, Motor Vehicles department, Kohima for necessary online payment of cash award of Rs. 5,000 only per Good Samaritan.
