DC Mkg encourages local media to continue to play positive role

Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung Sushil Kumar Patel (IAS) while lauding the contributions of Nagaland media has encouraged the fraternity to continue to play a positive role.
Interacting with visiting members of Kohima Press Club (KPC) at his official residence, Mokokchung on February 27, Sushil also highlighted the importance of media in disseminating information to the public so as to generate cooperation from the masses for governmental activities.
He also informed the team that the district was maintaining good relationship with the neighbouring state adding law and order has improved much except for “some petty issues”.  The DC said he was keeping good relationship with its counterpart deputy commissioner and people of Assam by meeting and interacting frequently to avoid any unwanted incident.
He informed that the administration was helping some students from neighbouring district to appear examination in Mokokchung town due to bad situation in their place. 
Further, the DC also lauded the effort of district NGOs, public, media and police in extending their cooperation to maintain peace in the district.
In the meeting, KPC president Xavier Rutsa also informed that the tour was aimed to foster good relationship among the press fraternity and encourage each other in serving the public by moving out from the “comfort zone”. 
Rutsa also said that the members would be visiting the Dimapur Press Club in the coming days. Mokokchung DPRO and Mokokchung Press Club (MPC) general secretary also accompanied the KPC members while meeting the deputy commissioner. It may be mentioned that KPC went on a two days tour to Mokokchung and also interacted with members of MPC.
