DIMAPUR: The District Advisory Committee on Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) held its first meeting on Thursday at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Mon, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Wennyei Konyak. The meeting aimed at enabling youth aspirations through technology, engagement, and opportunities.
According to a DIPR report, welcoming the newly constituted committee members, the DC expressed gratitude to the District Youth Officer of MY Bharat and noted that the youths of the district would be able to enhance themselves with skills and opportunities through the platform.
District Youth Officer, Mon, Rahul Sutliya, presented an overview of the organisational structure, objectives, features and opportunities of MY Bharat through a PowerPoint presentation. He explained that the umbrella organisation focuses on youths between 15–29 years from both urban and rural areas, engaging them through constructive activities such as sports meets, fitness drives and youth-led decision-making processes that contribute to nation-building. He added that the platform also provides vocational training courses, cultural exchange programmes, quizzes and debates, offering selected individuals opportunities to express their ideas at the national stage.
Sutliya further informed that youths should be encouraged to take a Nasha Mukti pledge after registering on the MY Bharat portal. To ensure maximum registration, members deliberated on extending invitations to educational institutions and establishing dedicated nodal officers in schools and colleges.
The meeting concluded with the constitution of the District Coordination Committee on Mera Yuva Bharat, which will review the activities of the programme on a monthly basis in the district.
