In view of complain by the general public regarding theft of GI pipes and other useful iron items in the town, the DC, Mon has banned sale and transportation of iron scrapes in the district of Mon till further order. The banned order, however, does not cover collection of empty bottles, gunny bags and unused plastic items. The concern issuing authority of the permit for collection of above exempted scrap materials other than iron should strictly regulate collection and movement, it added.
All police check gates/posts are also directed to strictly enforce the order and the defaulters to be booked under relevant section of law.
