Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mon, Honje Konyak has directed all stone quarries including departments dealing with detonation of explosive for road maintenance, to obtain prior permission from the DC and also duly inform security forces prior to ignition of such explosives.
In the notice, the DC Mon explained that the directive was issued in view of the prevailing security situation and development of a volatile law and order scenario in Mon district where security forces were on high alert.
Further, the DC also banned sale and use of fire crackers in the district till further orders to avoid mistakes and confusions in the prevailing situation.
The DC also warned that those violating the order, which came into effect from May 22, would be dealt with appropriately under sections of the law.
