DC Mon urges peaceful dialogue during visit to Tizit

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mon, Wennyei Konyak, visited Tizit on May 21 and held a coordination meeting with GBs, representatives of civil societies, and government officials at the ADC Conference Hall, Tizit. The meeting focused on maintaining peace in the region and fostering strong relationships with neighboring states.
According a DIPR report, addressing the gathering, DC Konyak assessed the current law and order situation and stressed the importance of calm and rational approaches in handling conflicts. He encouraged attendees to resolve issues through mutual understanding and dialogue with their counterparts, highlighting that cooperation is key to ensuring stability.
DC Konyak also raised concerns about unverified information on social media, stating that misinformation can lead to escalation of tensions.
He advocated for responsible use of digital platforms and the regulation of social media activity to prevent unnecessary disturbances.
During the meeting, DC urged the residents of Tizit sub-division to explore various forms of farming. He pointed out that the region’s soil and climate are highly favorable for cultivating a wide variety of crops, encouraging agricultural initiatives that could boost local economic development.
Following the meeting, DC Konyak, accompanied by ADC Mon, ADC Tizit, and SP Mon, paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Commissioner of Charaideo, Assam, Dr. Neha Yadav, at Sonari.
The short interaction focused on fostering goodwill between the two neighboring districts, reinforcing their commitment to cooperation and peaceful coexistence.
