DC Peren notifies on revision of photo electoral rolls

Office of the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Peren has notified all administrative/supervisor officers, booth level officers, political parties and the general public of 6-Tening and 7-Peren Assembly Constituencies under Peren District that the Election Commission of India has announced the schedule of the Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with January 1, 2017 as qualifying date for preparation of Electoral Rolls.
As per the notification, draft publication of Photo Electoral Rolls would be done on October 1, period for filing of claims and objections from October 1-31, reading of relevant part/section of Photo Electoral Rolls in gram Sabha/local bodies and RWA meetings and verification of names from October 7-14, special campaign dates with booth level agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections from October 8-22, disposal of claims and objections by November 30, updating database, merging of photographs, updating the control tables and printing of supplementary list by December 24, and final publication of Electoral Rolls on January 10, 2017.
Electoral Roll copy for inspection: In another notification, ADC & electoral registration officer Peren has notified to the electors of 6-Tening and 7-Peren A/Cs that Electoral Rolls has been prepared and a copy was available for inspection at its office and at designated locations during office hours.
The notice informed that qualifying date for preparation of Electoral Rolls was January 1, 2017.
Therefore, any claim for inclusion of name or objection to the inclusion of name or any other objections should be lodged on or before October 31, 2016 in Form 6,7 or 8, the notice read.
Further, any such claim or objection could either be presented to ADC & electoral registration officer Peren: Nagaland or to BLOs at the designated location or sent through post to S. Tainiu, ADC & electoral registration officer Peren: Nagaland not later than the aforementioned date.
