DC Phek directs on audit committee

In order to maintain the transparency of various village accounts and to ensure the proper utilization of funds under the level of village authority, the Deputy Commissioner, Phek, Murohu Chotso, has directed all the village councils, Village Development Boards (VDBs), Village Education Committees (VECs), etc, to constitute only one Audit Committee of their respective village on or before February 15.
The said constituted Audit Committee should be submitted to the Office of Deputy Commissioner for further notification to conduct audit accounts including Grant-in-Aid (GIA), Indira Awas Yojana (IAY), MGNREGA, Sharva Shiksha Abiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), Mid-day-Meal, Village Electricity Management Committee (VEMC), WATSAN A/c, Village Health Committee (VHC) A/c, and 13th Finance Commission Award.
The notified Audit Committee should carried out the audit of the above mentioned accounts specifically for the financial year period of 01-04-13 to 31-03-14 and 01-04-14 to 31-03-15. The audit reports should be furnished in its prescribed format and also directed the village authority to submit their respective audit reports to the DC office in duplicate on or before April 30 without fail.
