DC Phek issues monsoon advisory for public safety

DIMAPUR

Deputy Commissioner and chairman of District Disaster Management Authority Phek, Rhosietho Nguori, has issued an advisory due to the onset of the monsoon.
In view of the expected heavy rainfall in lowland and foothill areas, which may cause waterlogging, flash floods, landslides, and rising water levels in rivers and streams, the DC has advised public to avoid riverbanks for activities like picnics and fishing to prevent accidents.
All area administrative officers, department heads, village disaster management authorities, village council chairmen, head GBs, and ward authorities have been asked to remain on standby to handle any emergencies caused by natural disasters during the monsoon season.
This was stated in a DIPR report.
