DC Zbto issues security guidelines for Atoizu vote counting

DIMAPUR: The Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto, Dharam Raj, has announced strict security and conduct measures for the counting of votes in the Atoizu Town Council Ward-9 by-election, scheduled for June 19, at 8 AM. The counting will take place at the District Civil Supply Office, Zunheboto, in line with the election programme of the Nagaland State Election Commission.
According to the order, entry into the counting hall will be restricted to candidates, their election agents and counting agents holding valid identity cards issued by the Returning Officer. Government officials, counting personnel and other authorized persons will also be permitted entry. The use or carrying of mobile phones inside the counting hall has been strictly prohibited.
The district administration has directed candidates and their supporters to maintain peace and order during and after the counting process. Activities such as sloganeering, rallies, processions and any form of disturbance within and around the counting venue have been banned. The order further cautioned against intimidation, provocation, teasing or any action that could disrupt rival candidates and their supporters, warning that violators will face legal action under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The administration has appealed to all stakeholders to cooperate in ensuring a peaceful, transparent and orderly counting process, emphasizing its commitment to upholding fairness and lawfulness during the by-election.
