
District congress committee (DCC) Dimapur held a condolence prayer meeting in the DCC office to pay last respects to former union minister and veteran Congress leader, late Oscar Fernandes who passed away on September 13 in Mangalore.
In a press release, NPCC communication department informed that NPCC president, K Therie recalled the life of Fernandes, his immense contribution to the Congress party and to the cause of Nagas, particularly when he headed group of ministers on Naga political issue.
Therie said that the late leader also widely travelled across Nagaland for party works and perfectly understood the aspirations and sentiments of the people.
Others who paid tributes included NPCC vice president, W Akum Yim, DCC Dimapur president, Tsenthungo Nyamo and chairman of NPCC minority department, Rajesh Sethi. The programme was attended by Pradesh Congress committee (PCC) and Dimapur DCC officials.
