DCC-DLRC Phek meeting reviews priority sector progress

DIMAPUR: District Consultative Committee-cum-District Level Review Committee (DCC-DLRC) meeting for Phek district for the quarter ending December 2025-26 was held on Wednesday at the DC Conference Hall, Phek, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Nguori.
Advisor for CAWD & Taxes and chairman DPDB Phek, Kudecho Khamo, attended the meeting along with district administration officials, District Heads of Departments (DHODs), Lead Bank Manager, branch managers, and representatives from RBI and NABARD. The house adopted the minutes of the previous meeting and deliberated on agendas relating to the eight priority sectors of the district. Discussions also covered conduct of Financial Literacy Camps (FLCs) and expansion of the digital payment ecosystem (EDDPE).
Addressing the gathering, Khamo highlighted the need for installation of an ATM at Rukizu Ward, Pfutsero, to cater to people from Sakraba EAC Circle, Phusachodu and adjoining areas. He urged banks to conduct regular FLCs to create awareness and called for collective efforts by banks and government departments towards economic development.
Khamo encouraged banks to be proactive in supporting agriculture, horticulture and livestock sectors, citing their potential to boost the economy and improve living standards. He also urged support for entrepreneurs and MSMEs, stressing confidence-building measures for farmers and youth. “Nagas can be trusted,” he said, mentioning that the performance of a few defaulters should not overshadow the achievements of many young entrepreneurs.
He further suggested that banks adopt promising young entrepreneurs in their localities and grow together with them.
