DCC Kiphire urges immediate repair of roads at Pungro town

DIMAPUR: The District Congress Committee (DCC) Kiphire has appealed to the Public Works Department (R&B), Kiphire for urgent repair and maintenance of roads within Pungro Town.
In a letter addressed to the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Kiphire, DCC president K. Tsalimong highlighted the deteriorating condition of roads, which have developed numerous potholes and damaged stretches. The committee noted that the situation has worsened during the monsoon season, causing waterlogging, mud, and unsafe surfaces that pose risks to commuters, particularly school-going children.
The letter further stated that the poor road conditions hinder vehicle movement and emergency services, and urged the department to take immediate steps to restore the roads for public convenience and safety.
