DCC Peren asks ZPO (N) to work for people not TR

District Congress Committee (DCC) Peren while stating that it strongly stands against “nepotism, favouritism and corruption perpetrated by T.R. Zeliang” has asked Zeliang People’s Organisation (ZPO) Nagaland to “walk out of the shadow of T.R. Zeliang and cease to be his mouthpiece and raise issues that concern the rights and welfare of the people in which it has miserably failed so far.”
In a press statement DCC Peren media cell, said it was enlightening that ZPO (N) has claimed to be “social organization working for the rights and welfare of its people”.
DCC Peren said if ZPO (N) really work for its people then it should also speak up for the rights and welfare of the Tening Sub Division whose roads T.R. Zeliang has left unrepaired/unmade inspite of representing it for 20 years.  It said ZPO (N) should have spoken for the welfare of Kebai-Khelma area whose roads were repaired every year by the “poor villagers with contributions from MGNREGA funds”. Claiming that ZPO (N) was least bothered about raising other such issues, DCC Peren said its sole purpose for existence was found only when defending the “corrupt activities” of T.R. Zeliang and his close relatives and not the rights and welfare of the people as claimed by ZPO (N). Stating that DCC Peren was not against any development programme if it benefits all the citizens of Peren district, it said “T.R. Zeliang was elected to be the leader of the people and not for his family and few of his cronies.”
