Deputy commissioners (DC) of Tuensang and Longleng has respectively informed that some villages and wards have erected gates to restrict movement of people to and out of their village/wards.
According to DIPR report, the order asserted that it was imperative for government offices and other private agencies to continue to function, so as to ensure proper implementation of the various government policies and programmes.
Deputy commissioners therefore in an order directed those villages and wards who have erected gates on their own discretion to ensure free movement of government officers, employees and such other agencies exempted by the notification of the government. Defaulters would be dealt with under section 51 (1) (a) & (b) of the Disaster Management Act, 2995.
