DDADU asks RTA to keep the directive in abeyance

Dimapur District Autorickshaw Drivers Union (DDADU) has asked the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Dimapur to keep its directive (accommodating passenger only as per the seating capacity and not beside the driver) in abeyance for the welfare and smooth functioning of auto drivers and the public.  DDADU president I. Vitoshe Sema said that the RTA directive for the safety of the passengers was appreciable but once implemented the authority should also enhance the fare.
However, the union said that enhancing the fare as per sitting capacity would create misunderstanding between the drivers and passengers. DDADU also said that a family of more than three members also have to hire extra autorickshaws.  In this regard, the union appealed to the RTA to take into account the difficulties and problems that may arise due to the implementation of the directive.
