DDADU president clarifies

DIMAPUR, JUN 22 (NPN)

Responding to the demand by the Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation (WCYO) on June 21 for apology for his statement during a recent press conference Dimapur District Auto Drivers’ Union (DDADU) president Tito Yepthomi has clarified that he had not committed any act in any manner that harmed anyone in the ongoing investigation on the June 15 incident or traumatise the victim as alleged by WCYO.
Tito in a rejoinder claimed that all remarks made by him at the June 19 press conference were made with outmost care/responsibility and based on the statement as received.
Tito pointed out that he had clearly mentioned that what he spoke was as per reports from DDADU office-bearers. He clarified that he had nothing in support of the accused, or anything against the victim.
Tito further claimed that in his opening remark he had clearly expressed solidarity with the victim’s family. In addition, he mentioned that the case was under investigation by the authorities and justice would be done in the end. Tito said he had high regard for WCYO and appreciated their concern and therefore, appealed on the latte to accept his sincere clarification while committing to working together for the betterment of the community.
