Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) has appealed to the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) to defer the vacation notice served to the allottees of New Market (western side) here.
In a letter to DMC administrator, DDCF president Y Kikon and general secretary Rechard Haolai pointed out that vacation notice served on October 9 would affect more than 200 shops, including some residences, in the area directly or indirectly.
With the onset of the festive season and increase in shoppers during this season, they said that the order would affect shoppers from within and outside Dimapur and Nagaland.
They urged the DMC to defer the vacation process to a later date for the convenience of the citizens and the occupants. They also requested the council to make an alternative arrangement for relocating these shops and residences once the vacation process started.
