DIMAPUR, SEP 22 (NPN): Match Day 7 of the Dimapur District Football League (DDFL) cum Late Hejeto Ayemi Trophy produced contrasting results at the DDSC Stadium on Tuesday, with Dimapur United Sporting Club registering a dominant win while Thahekhu FC and Don Bosco Sports Academy (DBSA) settled for a goalless draw.
Dimapur United SC continued their impressive run with a commanding 4–0 victory over East Dimapur Sumi Sports Association in Match 13. Yiben struck twice in quick succession (15’, 17’) to hand his side a strong first-half lead. After the break, Vinato added a third in the 8th minute of the second half. Ghuqhe sealed the rout with a 19th-minute strike.
Dimapur United dominated possession with 70% and showcased their attacking depth through multiple set-piece chances and corners. East Dimapur Sumi, despite free-kick opportunities from Jasse Achumi, Vizokhotuo Belho and Risi, failed to capitalize.
Nungsang (8) of Dimapur United was named Player of the Match for his influential role in midfield.
With this emphatic win, Dimapur United strengthened their position in the league standings, while East Dimapur Sumi must regroup to remain competitive.
Match 14 saw Thahekhu FC and DBSA battle to a goalless stalemate. Thahekhu’s forward Katoho (93) was particularly active, attempting multiple set-pieces but failing to convert. DBSA’s Vika Ayemi and Peihauyiheiyang also came close from free-kicks, but neither side found the finishing touch.
